Call for Applications – Warsaw Euro-Atlantic Summer Academy (WEASA) 2020 (COVID-19 update)

The College of Europe Natolin campus, the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), and the Polish-American Freedom Foundation (PAFF), supported by the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission, announce a call for applications for the eighth edition of the Warsaw Euro-Atlantic Summer Academy (WEASA) which is taking place from 6 to 15 July 2020 at the College of Europe in Natolin, Warsaw (Poland).

We are closely monitoring the current situation that the COVID-19 pandemic put us in. WEASA 2020 will go ahead, though we are looking to modify its format or delivery, if need be. We will let you know as soon as possible if this happens. This Call for Applications – and the deadline – remain unchanged as of this moment.

WEASA 2020 will look into several topics, including:

  • Online moderation and algorithmic radicalisation;
  • Election security;
  • The fight against disinformation;
  • How to better secure our devices and communications.

Importantly, WEASA won't just be a time for lectures. Participants will also have a chance to attend practical workshops by experts from around the world and sit down for deep discussions with key figures in the digital and policy worlds.

An overview of the WEASA 2020 programme can be found here.
