Study Trip - Department of European Economic Studies

From 06/05 08:00 till 07/05 20:00

Belgium

The Department of European Economic Studies organised a study trip from 6 until 7 May to Luxembourg (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg). Initially a fortress, the city is now the most important European financial centre and home of several European institutions. It hosts the Secretariat of the European Parliament, the European Court of Justice, EUROSTAT, the European Court of Auditors (ECA) as well as the European Investment Bank and the European Stability Mechanism (to be active in 2013). The Economics Department organised visits to the EUROSTAT and the Court of Auditors, including lectures given by high-level speakers, as well as informal events in which students could network and a guided city tour to give them the opportunity of discovering the Luxemburgish history and culture.
