It is with great sadness that the College of Europe has learned about the death of its former Rector and Alumnus Dr. Werner UNGERER. Under his leadership from 1990 to 1993 the College of Europe established the Natolin campus, created the first full-time professorships and implemented a number of important administrative reforms. The College of Europe benefited equally from his dedication to the European construction and the College's educational mission and his huge European and international experience. Before becoming Rector, Werner UNGERER had been Permanent Representative of Germany to the European Communities. He will always be remembered as one of those who have shaped the history of our College.

Rector MONAR will represent the College of Europe at the funeral service in Wachtberg-Villip on 2 May.
