Annual Debate on Current Economic Issues

The Department of European Economic Studies organizes the third series of Annual Debates on Current Economic Issues. The debates will take place between four teams of students following the general programme in European Economic Studies and will be conducted in a modified “Oxford style”.

The debates will be assessed by a panel of judges:

  • Dr. Savvas PAPASAVVAS, Judge and President of Chamber, General Court, Luxemburg (Chair).
  • Prof. Dr. Christian de BOISSIEU, Professor, University Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Former President of the Conseil d’Analyse économique.
  • Dr. Adina CLAICI, Chief Economist Team, DG Competition, European Commission.

DEBATE CONTEST ELIMINATIONS
TOPIC 1: The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership will harm the EU. 

TOPIC 2: “Secular stagnation” is an EU problem.
