Alumnus Luc COENE has been appointed to banks supervisor by ECB

Mr Luc COENE (Promotion Winston Churchill 1970-1971) who will leave his post as governor of the National Bank on 10 March, has been appointed Banks Supervisor at the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM).

The Supervisory Board is responsible for planning and carrying out the European Central Bank's banking supervision tasks and proposing complete draft decisions for adoption by the Governing Council.

Mr COENE will take up his new position on March 11, a day after his last day in office as Belgium's central bank chief.
