Joëlle DE SÉPIBUS

Joëlle de Sépibus is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Bern as well as a Senior Research Fellow of the World Trade Institute. She teaches European constitutional and economic law as well as international law on climate change and sustainability at the University of Bern. Her current research interests focus on European and international law, in particular in the fields of climate and energy policies, including the new regime on climate change, carbon and electricity markets. In 2010, she worked as an expert for the Belgian Presidency team, attending the climate negotiations in Bonn, Tianjin and Cancun.

She was formerly an Associate Professor of international and European law at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). She holds a Master in European Law (College of Europe, Bruges) and a Ph.D. in European Law (University of Bern). Admitted to the bar, she practiced Swiss and international Business Law in law firms in Bern, Geneva and Zurich. After completing her doctoral thesis she was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (European University Institute, Florence).
