The European Health Parliament (EHP) organized its final plenary session and closing ceremony on 29 June 2016, at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The EHP is a platform for 55 young health experts from across Europe to generate fresh ideas on the challenges and solutions for Europe’s future healthcare. The EHP was this year composed of 5 committees which have developed their recommendations around the following topics: Digital skills for the medical profession, Antimicrobial resistance, Climate change & healthcare, Prevention and self-care, and Migration and health challenges. Ten students from the Chopin promotion participated in this edition.

For this closing ceremony, European Commissioner ANDRIUKAITIS was present, as well as ENVI Chair Giovanni LA VIA (host) and Belgian Secretary of State, Philippe DE BACKER. The Vice-President of the European Parliament, Mairead MCGUINESS, also joined the event, together with the Belgian Health and Social Affairs Minister, Maggie DE BLOCK.

A jury composed of qualified personalities awarded a special prize to the "Prevention and self-care committee" for their oustanding work. Congratulations to them!
