The College of Europe in Natolin (Warsaw) is seeking applications for the position of a 12-months Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, with a starting date of September/October 2017. The position will be held within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair.
We are looking for scholars with:
- a doctorate, preferably in Political Science, International Relations, Area Studies, Comparative Politics;
- a demonstrated interest in the field of ENP, EU foreign policy making, and the countries and political systems of the EU’s eastern or southern neighbourhood;
- a demonstrated interest in at least one of the following issues, i.e. political transition, security, state-building, regional politics, migration;
- some peer-reviewed academic publications in the field of EU foreign policy analysis, ideally with a focus on the ENP and/or the EU’s eastern or southern neighbourhood;
- good team working skills;
- a very good command of English (good knowledge of other languages spoken in the EU’s eastern or southern neighbourhood desirable);
- an ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously and to participate in the development and implementation of research projects and international conferences;
- a sense of responsibility and initiative, results-orientation, and a sense for continuous improvement;
- good organizational skills;
- ICT skills and the ability to use current IT tools.
Tasks include:
Under the supervision of the Chairholder, Prof. Tobias SCHUMACHER, the post-holder will be responsible for:
- the pursuit of research activities focusing on the EU’s eastern or southern dimension of the ENP and/or neighbourhood partner countries leading to high-level academic publications;
- active participation in the organisation of seminars, workshops and conferences in the framework of the ENP Chair;
- contributing to the academic program and providing academic support for students undertaking Master's theses related to the ENP;
- contributing to the implementation of the objectives of the ENP Chair, the post-holder will facilitate internal communication, foster co-operation, team spirit and a harmonious working environment with a view to increasing efficiency and academic output.
