Job vacancy – Professor (50%) in the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies at the College of Europe (Bruges campus)

The College of Europe (Bruges campus) is seeking applications for the position of a half-time professor in the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies (www.coleurope.eu/ird), starting at the beginning of 2015.

 

 

Essential requirements are

 

  • a Ph.D. in International Relations, Political Science or European Studies with an excellent result,
  • a proven interest in EU external relations and diplomacy, demonstrated by a list of publications,
  • university-level teaching experience,
  • a very good command of English and French,
  • the ability to work as part of a team,
  • good organisational skills and a high measure of flexibility.

 

Tasks include

 

  • teaching at least one Master’s level course on a topic related to the European Union’s external relations, including the supervision of Master's theses,
  • assisting the Director of the Department in leading and supervising a team of assistants and in the management of the study programme, the organisation of conferences and departmental publications, and
  • research and publications on European affairs.
