Job Vacancy – Secretary (50%) College of Europe, Bruges

The EU-China Research Centre in the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies and the programme Master of Arts in Transatlantic Affairs (MATA) at the College of Europe in Bruges are seeking applications for a position of part-time secretary that combines two functions:

  • the position of a part-time secretary (40%) for the EU-China Research Centre, which is financed by the Baillet Latour Fund and directed by Professor Jing Men;
  • the position of a part-time secretary (10%) for the MATA programme, which is coordinated by Professor Simon Schunz.

The starting date is as soon as possible and no later than January 2019. The position is currently available until end of August 2020.

Tasks include

  • giving administrative and organisational support to the daily activities of the Centre resp. the MATA programme
  • supporting the organisation of conferences in Bruges and Brussels and visits of scholars
  • communicating internally and externally in Dutch, English and French
  • updating information on the College’s internet and intranet
  • handling the budget payments for the Centre and the MATA programme
  • organising the EU-China Research Centre’s annual Board meeting
  • working closely together with the Departments and with the services of the College

The profile required includes

  • a relevant educational background and professional experience
  • a friendly and open personality, willing to learn and take initiatives
  • the ability to work in a team and independently
  • fluency in Dutch and a very good knowledge of English and French (both oral and written)
  • a good knowledge of MS Office
