Research Fellowship at the College of Europe, Natolin campus (Warsaw) – The Politics of the Middle East and North Africa

The College of Europe, Natolin Campus (Warsaw) is seeking applications for the post of Research Fellow with a starting date of 8 January 2018. The post will be held within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair.

We are looking for scholars with:

  • a doctorate, preferably in Political Science, International Relations, Area Studies, Comparative Politics;
  • a demonstrated interest in the politics of the Middle East and North Africa and/or EU relations with its southern neighbourhood;
  • a proven track record of relevant research projects;
  • relevant peer-reviewed publications in international journals and volumes;
  • good team working skills;
  • a very good command of English (good knowledge of other languages spoken in the Middle East and North Africa desirable).

Tasks include:

Under the supervision of the Chairholder, Prof Tobias Schumacher, the post-holder will be responsible for:

  • the pursuit of research activities focusing on the politics of the Middle East and North and/or the EU’s relations with its southern neighbourhood;
  • active participation in the organization of seminars, workshops and conferences in the framework of the ENP Chair;
  • contributing to the academic programme and providing academic support for students undertaking Masters theses related to the Middle East and North Africa;
  • contributing to the implementation of the ENP Chair’s mission, the post-holder will facilitate internal communication, foster cooperation, team spirit and a harmonious working environment with a view to increasing efficiency and academic output.
