With a degree in Hispanic Philology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, he holds a Master in Journalism from El País / UAM School of Journalism. He is an official examiner of the Instituto Cervantes and for more than twenty years he combines teaching and research with writing (fiction and nonfiction).
Currently, he prepares a doctoral thesis on the Mexican writer Jorge Ibargüengoitia and teaches Spanish at the Instituto Cervantes in Brussels.
He has published five books - novel and chronicle - and writes regularly in the Spanish press - El País, Crónica Global-.
He is also a professor of creative writing and is especially interested in the applications that literature and other forms of artistic expression can have in the learning of Spanish.
