Fernando VESPA

Fernando Vespa joined the College of Europe in May 2023.

Fernando has five years of professional experience in the design and management of international projects. His main areas of expertise and interest are: training and adult education, EU industrial policies, energy and digital transition, legal affairs, event management and communication.

At the Executive Education, Training and Projects Office of the College of Europe, Fernando manages the EU-funded project “EU Leading the Global Energy Transition” and other technical assistance contracts, as well as different executive education courses.

Prior to joining the College of Europe, Fernando worked for a Brussels-based EU industry association specialised in the construction sector, where he managed several EU-funded projects focusing on topics such as digitalisation, energy efficiency, upskilling and reskilling. Previously, he gained further project management experience working at an EU Network organisation representing public social services and at a British cultural and education institution.

Over the years, Fernando has acquired a sound knowledge of EU project management methodologies and tools and has also coordinated the design and development of training material and curricula, as well as the delivery of training events, information days and webinars.

Fernando holds a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from the University of Catania in Italy and Master in European Studies from UCLouvain in Belgium, complemented by a series of post-graduate specialisation courses in Energy Law, Environmental Law, Human Rights Law and EU Project management.

Fernando’s native language is Italian. He also speaks fluent English, has a good command of French and some knowledge of Spanish.
