François Finck studied law at the University of Strasbourg and the Humboldt University of Berlin, specialising in International Law and EU Law. He defended his PhD in International Law at the University of Strasbourg in 2011. He worked as a research assistant at the International Institute of Human Rights. He taught at the Strasbourg Law faculty, at the Strasbourg Business School and at the University of Wroclaw.

François spent a semester at the University of Dundee as a visiting researcher, where he worked on the environmental law aspects of energy transportation in the Baltic Sea. He published on International and European Human Rights Law and on the governance of the EU’s external relations after the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty.

His research interests cover International Law, the external relations of the EU, the EU and International Law and the EU Neighbourhood policy.
