Giorgio Bassotti (IT) is Academic Assistant at the College of Europe in Bruges, Department of the EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies, since August 2016.

He holds an MA in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges (2015-16), as well as a MA in International Relations (2014) from LUISS University in Rome and a BA in Development and International Cooperation from Roma 3 University. Giorgio has previous work experience as trainee at the Italian National Research Council in Brussels (2014-15) and at the American Embassy in Rome (2013-14), as international election observer in Tunisia (2011 and 2014) and as project associate of the Italian NGO ACS in Rome (2011-12).

Fields of interest: democratisation, democracy promotion, Arab democracy, European Neighbourhood Policy, international negotiations, peace mediation, Southern neighbourhood, MENA region.
