Marc Schelhase (DE) is a Lecturer in the Defence Studies Department at King’s College London. He holds a BA and an MA in International Relations from Keele University and a PhD in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick. His PhD research was funded by the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council (competition award).

Marc Schelhase is a specialist in political economy. His fields of interest include, in particular, the role of business in the regionalisation and globalisation processes in the Americas, the topic of his book Globalisation, Regionalisation and Business: Conflict, Convergence and Influence. He is currently working on the book Varieties of Risk: The Political Economy of Risk in Financial Markets and Defence. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Control and Risk Self-Assessment Forum linked to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He is also, among others, a member of the Open World Initiative of the Evian Group.
