Marylou Hamm is doctor-assistant for the EG program. In parallel, Marylou is an invited researcher at the Institut d’Etudes Européennes (IEE). From 2015 to 2022, she was a Teaching Assistant at the Université libre de Bruxelles, where she prepared a joint PhD in political science with Sciences Po Strasbourg. In her thesis, entitled “The conditions of Europe. Sociology of European technical assistance in the Greek crisis (2011-2015)”, she analyses the intervention of European staff in the implementation of structural reforms in the context of the macroeconomic conditionality in Greece (2010-2015). In parallel to her work at the College, Marylou will continue her research, focusing on contemporary European technical assistance to Member States and teach political sociology of Europe at Paris Dauphine.
Academic background: PhD in political science from the Université libre de Bruxelles and Sciences Po Strasbourg (2022); Master’s degree in Political and international expertise from Sciences Po Aix en Provence (2014); Master’s degree in Social Science Research on Politics at Sciences Po Strasbourg (2015).
Professional experience: lecturer in the Political Science Department at the Université libre de Bruxelles (2015-2022); visiting researcher at the Université de Montréal (2019-2020); visiting researcher at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (2018); member of the Groupe de recherche sur l’Union européenne (2020-2023)
