Dr Ricardo BORGES DE CASTRO is joining the College of Europe’s Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies as a visiting scholar from April to December 2024. During his stay, Dr Borges de Castro will inter alia conduct research on “European integration after Russia’s war on Ukraine: Peace, prosperity, and power”, combining historical and policy analysis as well as a foresight. He had gained professional experience at the European Policy Centre, at the European Political Strategy Centre, where he was foresight lead during President Juncker’s term, in the cabinet of European Commission President Barroso, the Commission’s Spokesperson’s Service, and as policy advisor in Portugal. Dr Borges de Castro is an alumnus of the University of Oxford, The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy and the Universidade Lusíada. He will be available to meet students.
