About the speaker:
Bobi Wine is a Ugandan politician, singer, and actor. In 2017, he entered politics and quickly became a critical voice of Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni's government. Wine ran for the 2021 presidential elections for the National Unity Platform political party and lost to the current President.

In December 2021, Bobi Wine was placed under house arrest by the Government of Uganda. He continued to protest the arrest and was finally allowed to go abroad after the publication of his documentary exposing the corruption in the 2021 elections.

Bobi Wine also appears in the 2023 documentary about his campaign trial in 2021, Bobi Wine: The People's President, directed by Moses Bwayo and Christopher Sharp, which was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 2024 Academy Awards.
