It is a tradition that the academic year of the College of Europe ends with the high-level conference on current questions of competition law, organised by the students of the European Law and Economic Analysis (ELEA) option.

This year’s topic is "New champions: Competition or politics?"

Recently, two decisions by European authorities have raised attention with the potential to change European competition policy as we know it. Based on the European Commission’s prohibition of the Siemens/Alstom merger, the first panel will discuss the topic "European champions: Do we need them?"

The second panel will focus on the Facebook decision by the German Bundeskartellamt about "Digital champions: Who should control them?"

Come and participate in this year’s discussion on the future shape of competition law!

Coffee, food, and drinks will be provided.

This event is open to the public, but registration is required before 14 June 2019, 12:00 (noon). THIS EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED!

For more information, contact Lena HORNKOHL or Alexander REITER.

This year's event has been made possible thanks to our exclusive sponsor CLEARY GOTTLIEB.
