Conférence par le professeur STAHL sur 'Economic Transition in China and its Consequences for Europe'.

Le 5 février 2015, le professeur Gerhard STAHL donnera une conférence sur 'La transition économique en Chine et les conséquences pour l'Europe'.  Cet événement est organisé par le Département d'études économiques européennes.


Sujets

  1. Short summary of the main economic indicators showing the speed of economic transition of China
  2. Describing the major challenges of the transition process:
    - Shift of the economic model
    - Urbanisation
    - Green economy and sustainable development
    - The role of state-owned companies
    - RMB as an international reserve currency
    - Chinese companies become international investors
    - China becomes promoter and the focal point of deeper integration in the Asia-Pacific region
  3. What are the consequences for the EU?
    - Free trade agreements and its geopolitical consequences
    - Concerning political systems, how can the EU stay successful?
    - In terms of competition between companies, how can European companies stay successful?

Professor Gerhard STAHL is teaching a course on Transition Economics in the Master program at the Peking University HSBC Business School (Shenzhen, China).  He is also a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in the Department of European Economic Studies, teaching a seminar on the Reality of Policy Implementation: EU2020 at Regional and Local Level.  He is the former Secretary General of the Committee of Regions.
