On 8-9 December 2015 and in the framework of the five-year European neighbourhood policy regional project ‘Preparing staff for EU-ENP related jobs’, a workshop was organized at the College of Europe Bruges campus.

The project, funded by the European Commission and managed by the College of Europe Development Office, aims at enhancing skills and knowledge on European affairs and European neighbourhood policy in the public administrations of ENP partner countries. Through this project, 12 training modules and an Executive Programme were organized, thus reaching over 400 people. For this, a network of local focal points from all the countries participating in the project was created in order to manage the selection of participants and the implementation of the training courses. A website where participants could access the materials of the courses and find updated information on EU-ENP affairs was also developed.

The 14 focal points, coming from Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Moldova, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia and Ukraine, attended the final workshop to discuss the instruments for capacity building actions for the ENP public administration available during the 2014-2017 period. Additionally, the results of the ENP Review 2015 were analyzed and participants took stock of the lessons learnt regarding capacity building and training on EU/ ENP affairs.

In the words of the Team Leader of the project, Ms Stéphanie HOREL, "These 2 days were a unique occasion for Officials from the ENP countries to build upon the results of the project, discuss future opportunities for capacity building actions and exchange views with Officials from DG NEAR".
