A partir de 13:00 till 13:00
Optional courses

On 19 & 20 June, UNU-CRIS in Bruges organizes a workshop entitled Deep Integration and North-South Free Trade Agreements, EU Strategy for a Global Economy.

Deep Integration and North-South Free Trade Agreements
EU Strategy for a Global Economy

This Work Shop will bring together leading academic and policy experts to analyse the EU's current trade strategy. The main focus will be on the EU Free Trade Agreements with Asian and African countries including India, ASEAN, South Korea and the EPAs with Sub-Saharan Africa. Key questions for discussion will be how FTAs can help countries to become more competitive, how to increase economic growth and reduce poverty, how to contribute to sustainable development and ensure there is procedural fairness in negotiations. Finally, given the current weakness of the WTO, how can FTAs be embedded in a broader multilateral framework.
