College of Europe Foreign Affairs (CoEFA) student group

The College of Europe Foreign Affairs (CoEFA) Group is a student initiative that aims to promote the exchange of ideas around different topics pertaining to the sphere of foreign affairs, such as security, defense, diplomacy, international cooperation, migration, and human rights. During the academic year 2015/2016, the group has proposed—and will keep on proposing—different activities such as visits, conferences, presentations of personal backgrounds, possibilities for publication, and debates.

This year, the group set up visits to the seat of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), the headquarters of the European External Action Service (EEAS), the seat of the European Defence Agency (EDA) and the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee at the European Parliament.

CoEFA members led career discussions about working for international organizations and working in an Embassy or EU delegation. There was a debate concerning mediation in the European External Action Service and the group developed some partnerships especially with the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair on the Natolin campus.

The CoEFA Group also organized conferences such as "Towards an Eastern Partnership 2.0: Discussing the Review of the European Neighbourhood Policy" on 20 January 2016 and a presentation of "La Nouvelle Europe" by M. PERCHOC on 12 October 2015.

The management of the group consists of a Group President, Mrs Pauline DUBOIS-GRAFFIN, and a Managerial Board. Within the Board, each member is responsible for one or more specific thematic areas. A very active part of CoEFA is the "Eastern Partnership" sub-group, led by Mrs Nino JAPARASHVILI. As the name implies, the group deals mainly with subjects related to the Eastern Partnership countries.
