25th anniversary of the Intensive Seminar on the EU

In summer 2018, the course "Intensive Seminar on the EU" will run for the 25th time. Launched in 1994, the "Intensive Seminar on the EU" is the flagship programme of the Executive Education offered by the College of Europe. The course predates the creation of the Development Office, which is the department that manages the professional training and consultancy services of the College.

During the 24 editions of the Intensive Seminar that have taken place so far, more than 1200 participants coming from all continents and representing more than 65 nationalities have participated.

The course is a three-, two- or one-week training programme providing professionals with in-depth knowledge and practical skills on EU decision-making and policies. Participants can choose between the three different programmes, depending on their prior level of experience with EU affairs:

  • For participants who seek to gain a thorough understanding or to refresh their knowledge on the EU, a comprehensive programme covering the institutional framework and the EU's main internal and external policies is proposed: the Classic three-week programme;
  • Participants who already possess a good knowledge of the EU institutional framework are invited to join the Advanced two-week programme to benefit from a full analysis of both the internal and external policies of the EU;
  • Participants who are very familiar with both the institutional framework and the EU's policies are invited to join the Compact one-week programme on the European Commission priorities, which offers a practical review of the current initiatives of the European Commission.

To celebrate this important occasion, a special networking event will be organized for the alumni of all past editions. Stay tuned!
