Annual conference of the IBERDROLA Manuel Marín Chair for European Energy Policy - "The Great Transition: How to get to carbon zero 2050?"

On Tuesday 15 June 2021 (14h00-17h45 CET), the IBERDROLA Manuel Marín Chair for European Energy Policy successfully hosted its annual conference, entitled "The Great Transition: How to get to carbon zero 2050?".

The conference was chaired by Professor Dirk Buschle and welcomed a range of speakers who are top authorities in their fields:

Adam Czetwertyński (Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Climate and Environment, Government of Poland), Angeles Santamaria (CEO, Iberdrola Spain), Benjamin Sovacool (Director of the Sussex Energy Group, University of Sussex), Daniel Yergin (Vice Chairman, IHS Markit, Author and Pulitzer Prize winner), Diana Ürge-Vorsatz (Vice-Chair, Working Group III IPCC), Elena Bou (Innovation Director, EIT InnoEnergy), Jan Hylleberg (Chief Executive Officer, Wind Denmark), Justyna Glusman (Coordinator for sustainable development and greenery Warsaw), Kadri Simson (Commissioner for Energy, European Commission), Kris Peeters (Vice President, European Investment Bank), Marie-Gabrielle Macherhammer (Project Manager and Key Researcher, HyCentA) and Philipp Offenberg (Manager, Europe, Breakthrough Energy).

The speech of Commissioner Simson was held in-person in Bruges, and was published on the website of the European Commission.
