Awarded project – Preparing Croatian officials for the 2020 Presidency

We are proud to announce that a consortium led by the College of Europe has been awarded with a project to upgrade and improve general and specific knowledge and skills of Croatian public officials, in preparation for the 2020 Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The Republic of Croatia will hold the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the first time from January to June 2020. Substantial training efforts have been already undertaken prior to Croatia joining the EU in 2013. Now, five years later, the aim of this specific training is more focussed on preparing the relevant civil servants and diplomats for the specificities and responsibilities of the rotating presidency of the EU and, importantly, with the skills needed to negotiate, lobby, communicate and interact in the various meetings, working groups, and the press.

The College of Europe, together with its Croatian partner Projectus Grupa, will develop and implement training modules on negotiation and lobbying in the EU, cooperation and networking, preparation and chairing meetings of working groups, and presentation skills.  The project will also include the provision of professional English and French language courses, the latter implemented by the subcontractor Alliance Française Zagreb.

We look forward to the collaboration.
