Call for Submissions: "3R Symposium: Revolution, War and their Consequences"

The Three Ukrainian Revolutions (3R) project based at the College of Europe in Natolin invites interested authors to send their proposed presentations based on their current research for the International Symposium 3R: Revolution, War and their Consequences which will take place from 16 to 17 March 2018. Submissions may include a presentation of a relevant research project related to Ukraine post-2014; an analysis of a solution to a problem; a report of a research study; or any other presentation that would benefit the larger academic community specializing in Ukrainian questions. In particular we invite submissions which present research regarding the following:

  • International reaction to the 2014 events in Ukraine;
  • The annexation of Crimea and its consequences for Ukraine and Europe;
  • The war in Donbas and its consequences;
  • Memory and justice in times of transformation (Eastern Europe);
  • Information warfare and hybrid warfare.

The scientific and organizing committee of the conference includes: Professor Richard BUTTERWICK-PAWLIKOWSKI, Professor Georges MINK, Dr Paweł KOWAL, Dr Iwona REICHARDT (Deputy Editor-in-Chief, New Eastern Europe), Mr Przemysław PAZIK and Mr Paweł PUJSZO. The primary investigators of the academic project and conference are Professor Georges MINK and Dr Paweł KOWAL. The secretary of the conference is Ms Kateryna PRYSHCHEPA.

Submissions are accepted for the oral presentations and the poster session.

The deadline for submitting an application is 4 February 2018. Applicants will be notified in the second half of February whether their submission has been accepted for presentation at the conference. The organizers reserve the right to offer participation in the poster session instead of the oral presentation.

For oral presentations we expect papers to be submitted by 12 March 2018. Papers will be presented during the sessions on 16 March 2018. The time limit for presentations will be 15 minutes.

Poster session participants place materials such as pictures, data, graphs, diagrams and narrative text on boards that are usually 88 x 125 cm. During the assigned 90 minutes, participants informally discuss their presentations with conference attendees.

The organizers will cover accommodation and boarding costs for a limited number of selected symposium participants.
