On 16 February 2016, the closing conference of the EU IPA funded Project “Support to the EU Integration Process – Phase III” (SMEI 3) was organized in Tirana (Albania). As member of the Consortium that implemented the project, the College of Europe was represented at the conference by the Director of the Development Office, Mr Jesús BALLESTEROS. After 4 years of successful collaboration, the EU Delegation to Albania, the Albanian Ministry of European Integration and the SMEI 3 Project team organized the Closing Conference “Building Albanian capacities for EU accession” to acknowledge the project’s impact and discuss how new initiatives can support the momentum of the European integration of Albania. The event focused on different aspects of the enlargement process and the main challenges on Albania’s road to the EU.
