Dr Johannes REMY honoured for the best monograph on a Ukrainian topic

Dr Johannes REMY has won the Canadian Association for Ukrainian Studies award for the best monograph on a Ukrainian topic by a Canada-based author published in 2016-17 as well as the Ivan Franko Prize for significant achievements in Social Sciences and Humanities for his book Brothers or Enemies: The Ukrainian National Movement and Russia from the 1840s to the 1870s.

The publication was completed during his postdoctoral research fellowship at the European Civilization Chair at the College of Europe in Natolin in 2015-16.

In January 2019, Dr REMY will be taking up a Visiting Assistant Professorship in Ukrainian History at Columbia University, New York. The research conducted by Dr REMY during his postdoctoral fellowship at the College has been published in an article in the Slavonic and East European Review.
