The EU Competition Law course includes this year an optional course on IT Markets

Following the launch of the Digital Agenda for Europe, the College of Europe developed a new optional course on IT Markets and EU Competition Law: Towards the creation of a digital single market. The optional course is complementing the successful Executive Education course on EU Competition Law.

Participants attending this optional course will better understand the framework of the digital agenda and the power that competition law can have as an effective tool to advance the objective of a single digital market in the European Union, promoting competition, eliminating anticompetitive trade barriers and generally enhancing market efficiency. The course includes topics such as business, policy and regulatory environment, the investigations into Google, the role of digital platforms, data merges and standard essential patents.

The optional course is open for registration exclusively to the participants of the EU Competition Law course, offered at the College of Europe, Bruges campus, from 4 to 8 July 2016, and it will take place the week after, from 11 to 13 July 2016. If interested, participants can opt for full-board accommodation in the College of Europe residences. Are you ready for ‘l’esprit du Collège’?
