Final Seminar of the Fellowship Programme for Government Officials from Western Balkans in Opatija, Croatia

From 19 to 24 November 2016, the College of Europe Development Office contributed to the implementation of the final seminar of the Fellowship Programme for Government Officials from the Western Balkans, organized by the European Fund for the Balkans (EFB). Within the framework of the 8th edition of the Fellowship Programme, the final seminar was organized this year in the city of Opatija (Croatia).

The programme is intended to bring together young government officials from the different Balkan countries (approximately 20 per year) to foster cooperation among them. The fellowship lasts three months in total and includes: an initial seminar in the city of Potsdam (Germany), where participants meet for the first time;  a period of two months in a ministry of one of the EU member states, where they learn from and contribute to the actual work at that ministry; a one-week final seminar, organized in cooperation with the College of Europe.

Building on a long-lasting cooperation with the EFB, the College of Europe contributed on this occasion with two trainers. The first trainer, Mr Rob BOUDEWIJN, offered a one-day practical negotiation workshop centered on the EU accession process. The second trainer, Mr Daniel JÉRÔME, animated the last half day of the seminar with a workshop entitled “Effective Teambuilding on Future Cooperation”.
