On 19 November 2020, the College of Europe in Natolin and the World Bank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of provision of assistance to coal regions in transition.
Both Parties have decided to work together to support high-coal regions by preparing and making accessible a body of knowledge across a wide array of issues associated with energy transition in coal regions. This collaboration will aim to facilitate sharing of new knowledge, experiences, ideas and lessons learned, contributing in a meaningful way to the understanding of viable pathways that high-carbon regions might pursue during a phase out of coal.
