The Newsletter Issue 3 of the College of Europe Development Office is out!

The College of Europe Development Office is proud to announce the launch of its third newsletter issue of 2020.

In this edition, you'll find an interesting in-depth interview with Mr Luciano MORGANTI, the trainer of the EU Fact Checking & EU Fact Finding training course. Mr MORGANTI reflects on current evolutions concerning EU information & disinformation, fake news and their corresponding repercussions for our democracies. This executive training course will take place from 29 to 30 October 2020 in an online format with a possibility to learn, network and interact from the comfort of one’s home.

The College of Europe Development Office successfully implemented for the first time all of its summer courses in an online format and welcomed more than 70 participants.

One of these participants is Ms Yana BROVDIY, Research & Teaching Assistant at the College of Europe. She participated in the Intensive Seminar on the EU one-week programme in July. In a short interview, Ms BROVDIY provides more information on her personal experience, the pedagogical achievements of the course and recommends the Intensive Seminar as a combination of good quality content and a user-friendly online experience. Watch the full interview here.

Multiple online workshops for the EU-funded Project El-Hiwar II were organised by the Development Office starting with an online meeting on "Inter-Institutional Dialogue: Response to Covid-19 and Repercussions on Euro-Arab Relations" for officials working for the League of Arab States (LAS) and the EU Institutions on Monday 13 July 2020. Mid-September, the Development Office implemented an online Foresight Exercise named: "Anticipating future crises (and opportunities): follow up". And from 21 to 24 September 2020, there was a four-day online training workshop on the Wider Human Rights Agenda including environmental, economic, social and cultural rights and its applicability to Policy Planning.

The College of Europe Development Office is pleased to confirm that it will be organising a capacity building training programme for 25 young civil servants from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The online training session that includes workshops, key note speeches and panel debates, will last for four weeks in early November and December 2020 followed by a one-week study visit to Brussels and Bruges in late spring 2021.

Our 2021 executive training offer is ready and the Development Office is looking forward to welcoming each and every one of you for its executive training courses in a face to face format in Bruges!

We wish you a pleasant reading!
