Professor Pascaline WINAND at the Joint Annual Conference of the College of Europe and the European University Institute

The Joint Annual Conference of the College of Europe and the European University Institute, co-organized by Professor Pascaline WINAND, took place on Friday, 19 October 2018 in Florence.

The objective of this conference titled "The impact of populism on the EU polity and policies", was to focus on the impact of populism, not on its form or success. The conference focused on three substantive areas. First, what has the impact of populism been on the dynamic of European integration and on the EU as a polity? Second, what has the impact been of populist and authoritarian governments on the rule of law in Europe? Third, how can the EU deliver societal security at a time when populists exploit fears of the 'other'?

The first session was live-streamed, and it can now be viewed at the following link.
