Student team in the "P2P Challenging Extremism Initiative" sponsored by the US State Department

For the first year, the College of Europe is participating in the P2P Challenging Extremism Initiative sponsored by the US State Department.

The initiative’s aim is to develop campaigns and social media strategies against extremism. To implement the campaign, each team receives $2,000 to produce a real campaign that has measurable impact on their campus, community and country. The best teams win a trip to Washington D.C. in June 2016, where they present their campaign to high-level officials at the US State Department.

The College’s team consists of 10 students from 9 different countries from the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies and the Department of European Political and Administrative Studies. To help develop their campaign, the team will meet with members of the Belgian Government’s Radicalization Unit and also draw on the vast expertise of visiting professors of the College. The team would like to encourage students at the College and beyond to support the team’s campaign when it is launched in the near future.

The team members are: Thomas ADAM; Inès ALPANDE LOUREIRO; Andrew CHAPMAN; David DELAVIER; Lucie-Belle DISSIRIER; Andrej MISECH; Paul PATRON; Evangjelia SALI; Ioannis SKIADARESIS; Edyta SKORA. The Academic Assistant coordinating the project with the students is Nicola DEL MEDICO
