During July and August 2016, the College of Europe Development Office undertook a research study commissioned by DG CONNECT (European Commission). The research team is preparing the final report on the study regarding the ‘Panorama exception’: the current EU exception to the copyright matters, permitting the use of works that were created to be permanently located in the public space.
The public consultation, launched by the Commission on 23 March 2016, covers as well the role of publishers in the copyright value chain. This final report is expected to be finalized and submitted in September.
