You think your level of French is too low to study at the College of Europe in Bruges?

Check out the new access to French initiative of the Politics and Governance programme.

Did you know that a new "access to French" track in the European Political and Governance Studies Department means you can apply with a low level of French and improve through the academic year?

Do not be afraid to apply if you fear your French might not be up to scratch. We are here to help!

The College of Europe European Political and Governance Studies Department will accept a limited number of students with basic/low level French language skills (A2) under the following circumstances:

  • students have a C1 level in English;
  • they have an excellent (academic) background; and
  • a high motivation to improve their French language skills, so as to reach a level B2/B1 during their stay at the College

The admissions of candidates with a limited level of French (A2) is necessarily made conditional on the attendance of:

  • an intensive French course before the beginning of the academic year;
  • the introductory course;
  • a weekly French course throughout the academic year;
  • the choice of at least one optional course and one European General studies course in French.
