Job Vacancy – Academic Assistant (100%) in the Department of European Political and Governance Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges

The Department of European Political and Governance Studies is inviting applications for the position of Academic Assistant with a starting date as soon as possible.

We are looking for recent graduates, preferably with some familiarity with the College of Europe, and with

  • Master’s degree in political science, law, economics, with a strong background in European studies,
  • very good academic grades, equivalent to an overall average of at least 15/20 at the College of Europe,
  • very good command of English and French,
  • ability to work as part of a team,
  • an interest in teaching and research,
  • good organisational skills

Tasks include

  • assisting the professors (e.g. organisational back-up, academic advice to students),
  • teaching (e.g. giving tutorials),
  • working in a team with other Academic Assistants,
  • contributing to the Department’s administration (e.g. study trip, guest lectures, conferences, participation in the selection of prospective students),
  • conducting research and publishing.
