The College of Europe – based in the centre of Bruges, is an Institute of Post graduate studies, specialised in European Affairs, welcoming students from more than 50 European and non-European countries – is recruiting a WEBMASTER  

Profile  

Education and experience  

  • You are in possession of at least a Bachelor level  degree in a relevant subject area (or equivalent proven through experience).  
  • Experience in the management and optimisation  and working with systems such as Drupal and  WordPress is a must.  
  • You have proven experience in the management of profiles on platforms such as  Facebook, LinkedIN, Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo  
  • Work experience in an international academic context  would be a plus  

Knowledge  

  • Programming and scripting with o.a. PHP, Java, .Net, xHTML, CSS   
  • Designtools like Adobe CC including PhotoShop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Premiere and AfterEffects.   
  • RDBMS systems like MySQL en MS SQL.   
  • Operating Systems Windows and Linux   
  • The platforms Apache, IIS, nGincx   
  • WebCMS systems such as Drupal en WordPress   
  • Webtools such as Google Analytics   
  • Security and encryption such as HTTPS en SSL   
  • The principles of Cookies, Tags, tracing, bots and  AI   
  • SEO optimalisation  
  • MS Office/Office 365   

You have a practical general knowledge of ICT and are ready to broaden this knowledge.  

You have an affinity with graphic design and the branding of different platforms.  

You are aware of GDPR and data governance   

You have a good knowledge of Dutch and English (spoken and written) and enough practical notions of French.  

Soft skills   

You have an analytical and problem solving mind set   

You are communicative and can express yourself well in Dutch and English; French is a plus point.

Tasks   

  • You manage the different websites of the College of Europe from A to Z (development, implementation, testing, managing and evaluating).   
  • You strive towards a correct technical management and adjustments of the relevant platforms   
  • You are the contact person for all web content (mostly technical) related website questions and solutions for all key web users within the College of Europe.   
  • You are ready to train and support users of the systems where needed.   
  • You contribute to the  making and updating of existing documents concerning technical and procedures within the context of websites.   
  • You are part of a multidisciplinary editorial team where you work actively to develop tools which increase the visibility of the college.   
  • You are a member of the ICT service and report to the ICT Director.
