Stefanie MAERTENS

Stefanie MAERTENS joined the College of Europe Executive Education, Training and Projects Office as a Project Assistant in May 2011. She holds a Master’s degree in Translation English-Spanish. Prior to joining the College of Europe, she worked for seven years at the International Training Department of WES Research & Strategy in Bruges, where she organised training courses for both private and public organisations, mainly for participants coming from various developing countries in Africa, Asia, and South America. At the Executive Education, Training and Projects Office, Stefanie is assisting project managers in the organisation of training courses, conferences, exchange programmes and seminars at the international level. Specifically, being one of the key experts in the team, as event organiser, she manages the logistics of seminars and workshops organised within the EU funded project on Euro-Arab relations called “El-Hiwar”, set up to improve the flow of information and dialogue between the League of Arab States and the European Institutions. Within this project, she organises events and workshops in Brussels, Malta, and Cairo: arranging the choice of venue, catering, visa letters for participants and speakers, flights of speakers, timesheets, etc.

Other activities on which she worked include the organisation of training courses in the framework of the project “Turkey-Ankara: IPA — Technical assistance for IPA II (2014–2020)” and the organisation of training and events in Latin America in the framework of the projects “EU Policy and Outreach Partnership – Brazil and South America” and “Policy and Outreach Partnership Location- Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean”.

In relation to the Executive Education trainings the office offers, she assists in the implementation and planning of the ‘Intensive Seminar on the EU’, the ‘Negotiations in Practice’ and the ‘EU Diplomacy & Diplomatic Skills’ courses. She speaks Dutch, English, French and Spanish.
