Le Dr. Irene FERNÁNDEZ MOLINA, Chercheur à la Chaire de la Politique européenne de Voisinage au campus de Natolin (Varsovie) du Collège d'Europe, vient de publier un article de journal dans Mediterranean Politics, intitulé : « Protests under Occupation: The Spring inside Western Sahara ».
L'article fait partie d'un numéro spécial sur « Arab Spring and Peripheries », édité par le Dr. Daniela HUBER (Istituto Affari Internazionali) et le Dr. Lorenzo KAMEL (Bologna University/Harvard University).
Résumé (en anglais) :
The argument put forward is that the empowerment of the Sahrawi pro-independence movement inside the Western Sahara territory, under Moroccan control, as a periphery, was made possible not only by variations in the opportunity structure, mainly at the Moroccan state level, which were actively seized by the internal Sahrawi activists through a novel combination of domestic non-violent resistance and international "diplomatic" activism, but also that the recognition achieved through these strategies was crucial in this process.
