Eduroam

What is Eduroam?

Eduroam or 'Education Roaming' is an initiative of TERENA.  This international project enables each student or member of staff to use a wireless network outside the CoE campus (in schools and universities in Belgium or abroad) in an easy and safe way. More information such as participating organization can be found on the Eduroam website.

How?

  1. Connect to the wireless network ‘Eduroam’.
  2. Fill in your College e-mail address (firstname.lastname@coleurope.eu) and password at the prompt.
  3. In some operating systems you may see a warning about the certificate. You can safely accept this certificate.

Availability

All access points on campus provide access to the eduroam network. As eduroam relies on 802.1X authentication some settings are required on the personal device.

  • WPA2/AES wireless security/encryption.
  • EAP-PEAP (Protected EAP) authentication.
  • PEAP configured for MSCHAPv2 authentication (phase2)
