EPPA Symposium: "The European Trilemma – Aligning Fiscal Stability, the Green Transition & Open Strategic Autonomy, with a Spotlight on Critical Raw Materials”

On Monday, 17 March 2025, the students of the European Public Policy Analysis (EPPA) track at the College of Europe hosted a high-level symposium addressing one of Europe’s most pressing policy challenges: “The European Trilemma – Aligning Fiscal Stability, the Green Transition, and Open Strategic Autonomy, with a Spotlight on Critical Raw Materials".
We were pleased to welcome Mr Daniel MONTALVO, Head of Unit, Circular Economy, Finance and Indicators, at the European Environment Agency, Mr Maurits BRUGGINK, Secretary General, Critical Raw Materials Alliance & Senior EU Policy Advisor, and Mr Martin LARCH, Head of Secretariat, European Fiscal Board & Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, who shared their expert insights on how to balance economic stability, environmental goals, and strategic independence in today’s complex international landscape.
Congratulations to our EPPA students for organizing such a timely and impactful event!
