On the 8th March, the College and SAGE (Students Association for Gender Equality) organised two events to celebrate the International Women's Day.
At 14:00, Claudia DE CASTRO CALDEIRINHA, CEO of Redscope and author of Women Leading in Brussels, came to do a masterclass for our students on "Gender-based bias and microaggressions: how they happen and how to handle them". It was an opportunity for our students to reflect on gender issues at all levels, and how to collectively create a more inclusive society, by an experienced expert and speaker in the field.
At 16:00, a panel discussion took place on Gender equality in the workplace with speakers from the Best Friends group of international law firms consisting of Bonelli Erede, Bredin Prat, De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, Hengeler Mueller, Slaughter and May & Uría Menéndez. The speakers discussed their own careers and issues such as unconscious bias in the workplace, work/life balance challenges and leadership styles.
The College also released a short video with a message from both staff and students.
