We're 5 Albanians at the College representing Albania, Kosovo and dual citizens.
The Albanian and Kosovar history is complex and intertwined and it was difficult to portray different aspects in just one day. For this reason, we decided that the best way to at least tackle this challenge was by screening 3 short films. We chose Kolona, Without a Brother and The Albanian Code which portray topics ranging from the impact of the Kosovo war, Albanian hospitality that we hold as a key value, and issues that women face nowadays.
We complemented this with a food reception where our friends were able to indulge in delicious Albanian recipes such as fli, baklava and byrek. We hope that this event sparked curiosity within the College community to keep discovering Albania and Kosovo.
