Book art project in the Bruges Library

During the month March, students of the Mário Soares Promotion were encouraged to create a piece of book art by using a withdrawn book. To get inspiration some examples were displayed in the library, including two manuals with book folding patterns.

On Tuesday 30 March, the contest winners were announced. Aymeric AMAND of the European Political and Governance Studies Department surprised the library staff with his innovative design of “Le Petit Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. He used different techniques as cutting, drawing, coloring & reusing the text of a dictionary. As first prize winner he received a folding book lamp.

Cléa MARTIAL, student of the European Legal Studies Department, folded book pages into flowers and pasted them on the title page.  Also very impressive!

The library staff wants to thank all participants.
