College of Europe team attended the Hult Prize London Regional Finals

On 4 - 5 March 2017, the College of Europe team attended the Hult Prize London Regional Finals. The team was one of the 60 that has been selected out of the 50.000 applicants to the Regional Finals. During this two-day challenge, the team participated in workshops and an awareness conference facing the problem of population displacements and migration. They then pitched their social business model to a jury panel, that was comprised of the director of UNICEF UK, the head of the livelihood section for the UNCHR, and several representatives of incubators and investors.

The business model they presented aimed at relieving the distress of asylum-seekers living in refugee camps in transition countries (Turkey, Italy and Greece) by catering to their essential needs and providing legal assistance. The funds allocated would be provided by the sale of hiking backpacks sourced from environmental friendly plants in Turkey. The idea was to relieve refugees by providing immediate help in camps, and integrating refugees by integrating them in our value-chain.
