The Energy Group visits the Fluxys LNG Terminal in Zeebrugge

On Thursday 10 January 2019, a team of the College of Europe Energy Group had the opportunity to visit the Fluxys LNG Terminal in Zeebrugge.

The Fluxys’ terminal serves as one of the main gateways for the LNG supply in North-Western Europe and the company also plays a leading role in the further development of LNG networks in other parts of the EU. Besides the explanation of the main functions of LNG as a reliable complement to renewable energy, we had the opportunity to visit the site itself where the pipelines are located. It was an enriching experience to gain deeper knowledge about gas energy. I can only encourage everyone to have a look at the broader energy transition issues the world is currently facing, as it concerns us all! Already looking forward to the next CoE Energy Group visit!
