'Migrations and Asylum Awareness Society' visited the DG for Migration and Home Affairs

On the 9th of November 2017, the College of Europe's students' "Migrations and Asylum Awareness Society" was able to organize a visit to the Directorate General for Migration and Home Affairs at the European Commission yesterday, to discuss some key issues in the fields of asylum reform and migration policy. During the visit, they were able to meet some College alumni, namely Esther POZO VERA and Catherine DELACOUR.

  • 10:00 The Common European Asylum Procedure and the CEAS Reform (presentation by Charmaine HILI, coordinator for CEAS Reform)
  • 10:45 Resettlement agreements with third countries outside the EU (presentation by Dora SCHAFFRIN, - resettlement team)
  • 11:30 Liaison with NGOs on the ground: potential developments and ideas (François THERON – policy initiatives in civic participation dialogue, Diane ANGERMUELLER - policy coordinator Mid-term review of the European Agenda on Migration, Manon BARTHOD - international unit, Libya)
  • 12:15 Coordination between EASO and DG HOME (presentation by May-Ann RAMSEY, coordinator for relations between HOME and EASO)
